It's just a thought...
John 10:10:
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.
This verse is most appropriate in the light of the fact that most "Christians" who support the death penalty do exactly that - kill and steal while they should be proclaiming the Gospel.
